Day Two: Anna has stolen Vronsky from Kitty, who has just turned down Levin’s proposal of marriage- a sad state of affairs. While there was no chance of becoming lost,today- the uphill trek from the train station was demanding in a way that went unnoticed yesterday. It took about 25 minutes to arrive. The return trip is all downhill,however and should take about 10 minutes, as it did yesterday. I also console myself with the thought that it can only get easier. Right?
I noticed a small bird on the path, twittering gaily to himself, and said hello to him. Cattle are grazing in the field outside.
